Take Back the Night is an annual event held at the beginning of October to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It is presented by the Yavapai County Coordinated Community Response Team in conjunction with Prescott Valley Police Department and Yavapai Family Advocacy Center. We will have several local officials speaking about Domestic Violence and its effects on the victims, families and our community. There will also be a survivor speaker who will share their story of overcoming DV and a “Speak Out” segment where members of the community are encouraged to share their stories. We will have a candle lighting to honor Domestic Violence fatality victims in Yavapai County followed by a march around the Civic Center. A variety of local organizations will have tables at this event. They will provide resources and information about Domestic Violence and what services they offer victims of DV and the community. It will be held at the Prescott Valley Civic Center on Wednesday, October 4th from 5:30-7:30pm.
